Your First Visit: What to Expect

Your first visit is an opportunity for us to get to know you and establish a baseline for your oral health. Our new patient special includes a comprehensive exam, a professional cleaning, and a full set of digital X-rays for $59.

For patients with an accepted PPO dental insurance plan, the exam and X-rays are often fully covered, making your out-of-pocket cost for those services $0. We will verify your benefits ahead of time to confirm.

This initial appointment typically lasts between 60 and 90 minutes. This allows us ample time to be thorough and answer any questions you may have without feeling rushed.

• Comprehensive Examination: Dr. Rapoport will carefully check your teeth, gums, bite, and overall oral health.
• Digital X-rays: We use modern digital X-rays to get a clear view of your tooth roots, jawbone, and areas not visible to the naked eye.
• Professional Cleaning: A dental hygienist will gently remove plaque and tartar buildup from your teeth.
• Personalized Treatment Plan: After the exam, we will discuss our findings with you. If any treatment is needed, we will outline your options, timeline, and costs.

How to Prepare for Your Appointment

To help make your first visit as smooth and efficient as possible, we ask that you arrive 10-15 minutes early to complete your new patient forms. Bringing the following items with you will also help our team provide you with the best care.

• A current photo ID, such as a driver's license or state ID card.
• Your dental insurance card, if you plan to use a PPO plan.
• A list of any prescription or over-the-counter medications you are currently taking.
• If you have recent X-rays from a previous dentist (taken within the last year), you can arrange to have them sent to our office. This can sometimes prevent the need for new ones.

Switching From Another Dentist

We understand that people change dentists for many reasons, from moving to the area to simply wanting a second opinion. We welcome new patients and aim to make the transition as simple as possible.

Our office staff can help you request your dental records from your previous provider. We focus on your future oral health and will perform our own thorough examination to create a go-forward plan.

You will not face any pressure to replace existing dental work that is still in good condition. If we find that your teeth and gums are healthy and no treatment is needed, we will be happy to tell you so.

Your primary care at our practice will be with Dr. Alla Rapoport, who handles routine checkups, cleanings, fillings, and cosmetic procedures. Her focus is on preventive care to help you maintain long-term dental health.

For more complex situations, our team includes in-house specialists. Dr. Leon Peck is our oral surgeon, available for procedures like wisdom tooth removal and dental implant placement. Dr. Nadia Tabachnik is our endodontist, specializing in root canal therapy.

Having these specialists as part of our office means fewer referrals to outside practices. Your care is coordinated under one roof, which saves you time and ensures your entire treatment plan is managed seamlessly by a team that works together every day.

Our office is open Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 6:00pm. We are closed on weekends.

We accept most PPO dental insurance plans. When you call to make your appointment, our staff will ask for your insurance details. We will then verify your benefits with your provider before your visit so you have a clear understanding of your coverage. For any treatment not covered by insurance, financing options are available.
